How to Remove Partner from Google Photos
Google Photos is a popular cloud-based photo storage and sharing service that allows users to store and organize their photos and videos. However, there may come a time when you need to remove a partner from your Google Photos account due to various reasons such as a breakup or privacy concerns. In this article, we will guide you through the steps on how to remove a partner from Google Photos.
Step 1: Sign in to Google Photos
The first step to remove a partner from Google Photos is to sign in to your Google account. Open your web browser and go to the Google Photos website (photos.google.com). If you are already signed in, you can skip this step. Otherwise, enter your email address and password to log in.
Step 2: Access the Shared Album
Next, you need to access the shared album where your partner’s photos are stored. In the left-hand menu, click on the “Shared” tab. This will display all the shared albums you are a part of. Look for the album that contains your partner’s photos and click on it.
Step 3: Remove Partner from Shared Album
Once you have accessed the shared album, you will see a list of all the people who have access to the album. To remove your partner, hover over their name and click on the three dots that appear next to their name. From the dropdown menu, select “Remove from album.”
Step 4: Confirm Removal
A confirmation dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the removal of your partner from the shared album. Click “Remove” to proceed. This action will remove your partner’s access to the album, but their photos will still remain in the album.
Step 5: Delete Partner’s Photos (Optional)
If you want to delete your partner’s photos from the shared album, click on the “Select” button in the upper-right corner of the album. Then, check the boxes next to the photos you want to delete. Finally, click on the “Delete” button to remove the photos from the album.
Step 6: Remove Partner from Google Photos
To completely remove your partner from your Google Photos account, you need to remove them from your Google account. Go to the Google Account settings page (myaccount.google.com) and sign in with your Google account. In the left-hand menu, click on “Data & privacy,” then select “Manage data stored in apps.” Scroll down and click on “Photos & videos,” followed by “Google Photos.”
Under the “People & sharing” section, you will find a list of all the people you have shared photos with. Find your partner’s name and click on the three dots next to their name. From the dropdown menu, select “Remove person.” This will remove your partner from your Google Photos account, and they will no longer have access to any of your shared photos or albums.
By following these steps, you can easily remove a partner from Google Photos and ensure that your privacy is protected. Remember to communicate with your partner about the removal to avoid any misunderstandings.
