Newton’s impressive performance throughout the season, including a record-breaking rushing touchdown against the Denver Broncos, showcased his potential as a future Super Bowl quarterback.
Another notable rookie quarterback who almost led his team to the Super Bowl is Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes was drafted by the Chiefs in the 10th round of the 2017 NFL Draft, but he quickly rose to prominence due to his incredible talent and leadership skills. In the 2018 season, Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 12-4 record and an AFC Championship Game appearance, where they faced the New England Patriots. Although the Chiefs lost in a thrilling overtime game, Mahomes’ performance during the season earned him the NFL MVP award and established him as one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
While the Super Bowl remains elusive for many rookie quarterbacks, the potential for a young player to lead his team to the big game is always there.
